Benefit/Motorcycle Run

The S.O.S. Run is for the soldiers that put their lives on the line everyday so that we may live a better life. This Run is to thank them, support them, and let them know that their sacrifices are not taken for granted.

This year, at request of our soldiers, all monies will be donated to the Fort Bragg MWR (Morale, Welfare and Recreation), instead of care packages.   Through the MWR, ALL soldiers will be able to benefit from the money we raise through the Run.   According to our guys (and gals), the MWR is the ONLY source of "fun" or shall we say "normalcy" that they have over there.

The Run will be held on July 5, 2008 at the Outlaw BBQ on RT. 1 in Foxboro, Massachusetts (rain date July 6). But, you don't have to ride to come join us and show your support for these brave men and women. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact us at sosrun@aol.com.

Aug 3 The Netta Run:Hello everyone, update on the Netta Run 2008, we are looking at the date of August 3rd this year a Sunday. This year the event will not be for children. It will be a long, simple beautiful ride along the coast exactly like the "2006" the first run. Netta's favorite. Take off location TBA potentially from Beverly and ending in Salisbury at Kittens. Receiving much support from the MMA and will be doing a 50/50 in support of the Motorcyclist Survivor Fund , in lieu of their support for us. Stay tuned to http://www.nettas-run.com/ for updates. For those who helped last year please let me know if you can help this year. Sponsors will not be as necessary this year for all monies raised from the ride itself will go directlyto LCA, there probably won't  be t-shirts, and so much overhead (tent, food, condiments, rolls, water, kids stuff, t-shirts, deserts, portopotties, permits etc.) so I will not need to go crazy raising the money ahead for that. Food will be provided of course at a cost payable to Kittens, Kittens will donate directly to LCA. We are looking at inside and outside food entertainment. Possibly a band outside, the usual entertainment insideThe choice to stay will be up to the individual riders. Of course all who do not ride are inviting to gather and greet us as we continue to raise awareness for Lung Cancer. The main focus is the actual Ride in Netta's honor .

Greetings from Vermont!
I was writing to request a listing on your website for our 3rd annual Last Mile Ride. The following is a bit about our ride:

The third annual Last Mile Ride will be held on August 16, 2008, at Gifford Medical Center in beautiful Randolph, Vt.

Staging begins at 8:30 a.m. and motorcyclists depart at 10 a.m. for an approximately 100-mile ride through some of Vermont’s most beautiful countryside. Riders will pass rural communities, village centers, multiple covered bridges and even follow the gentle curve of picturesque rivers. The route includes valleys and hilltops and a mid-way break for riders to stretch their legs. The ride ends at Gifford Medical Center, where it will have begun, with a barbecue lunch, live music by band Hillary and Party Crashers, and prize giveaways.

The cost is $50 for one rider and $75 for two riders (on one bike). Riders need not pay the money themselves. They can fundraise the fee by asking friends and family for donations. For their effort, riders get free commemorative pins, T-shirts if they register early, an escorted ride, a very fun day and the opportunity to support an outstanding cause. The ride raises money for services for terminally ill patients, or those in the last mile of life. Visit www.giffordmed.org for more information.
